Coaching -we are currently running coaching sessions for adults from 6.30 pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday evenings, the cost is £5 per session. Contact the secretary for more details or just come along on a Tuesday evening to find out what's on offer.

Our junior coaching programme will commence on Saturday 17th July, again contact the secretary for more details

80th Anniversary Open Day - the club celebrated it's 80th anniversary with an open day during which the occasion was marked by the official opening of the two new hard courts by councillor John O'Reilly-Ciccone as well as the unveiling of a new seat to commemorate the retirement of Ann Summerland who had been the club secretary for 45 years. Vice President's Cup -16 members participated in the second tournament of the year on Sunday 6th June, the Vice President's cup was played in a reverse pairs format. Sandra Hume won the tournament with last year's winner Richard Waters in second place. the photo below shows Sandra receiving the trophy from the tournament secretary and organiser, Andrew Goldsmith, click on the image to enlarge it

Open Day - a reminder that we have our 80th anniversary open day on Sunday (9th May) from 1pm to 5pm

2010 calendar and club championships - the 2010 calendar is available in PDF form in the Calendar section where you can also download an entry form for the club championships- entires for this close on Sunday 6th June

24th April 2010

Coaching - the first coaching session will be on Tuesday evening(27th April) from 6.30 to 8.30 pm, the cost is £5 per session, there will also be coaching 'tasters' available at the Open Day on 9th May

The first tournament of the year takes place tomorrow with a mens singles and a ladies doubles tournament

 

12th April 2010

New hard courts - the new hard courts were painted at the weekend, they will be unavailable for play until next weekend as the paint needs to set fully.

Open Day - the club is holding an open day on Sunday 9th May to celebrate the official opening of the new courts and the 80th anniversary of the opening of the club on the present site. The event will commence at 13.00 and the courts will be available for free tennis for anybody who turns up. There will be coaching available on the day as well. As long as there is sufficient interest , regular coaching will commence after this event

 

 

7th Janaury 2010

Quiz night - the club is holding a quiz night on Saturday 30th January at the Maurice Rowson Hall, cost is £5 per person with teams of up to 6 persons, please contact either Andrew Goldsmith or Bob Waters to book a table or e-mail the club.

AGM - with the resignation of Ann Summerland after 40+ years of service to the club, Sheila Goldsmith was elected as the new secretary, contact details are on the contact us page. Peggy McLeod resigned as President and has invited Bob Waters to succeed her which he has agreed to do
